IIR BiQuad filters are second-order, recursive linear filters that transforms an input signal based on coefficients that define a transfer function. Values from a time-based input signal are fed through the filter and returned to the filter input to create a feedback loop for higher attenuation. The time-based output signal is then processed by additional filters or processed to calculate new information.
